When we think of spray painting, many envision street art found in various corners of Hong Kong or artists in overalls creating masterpieces.
In reality, with just a few simple tools and materials, anyone can become a spray painting artist.
Spray painting isn't limited to abstract forms; it can also be introduced in schools, allowing students to explore the vibrant world of spray art. Creative Education hosted a Spray Painting Training Class for students at TWGHs Tsoi Wing Sing Primary School. Under the guidance of our tutors, students had the opportunity to get hands-on experience using spray paint, watercolors, and cardboard to create their artworks. The soft and beautiful colors produced by the spray guns, combined with splashes of watercolor or other paints, often left viewers mesmerized.
Creating spray art requires a balance of boldness and precision. Quick and accurate application leads to more evenly distributed colors, and students expressed that learning spray painting helped them become bolder and reduce hesitation. Moreover, the lack of need for fine artistic skills did not hinder the visual appeal of their creations, allowing them to enjoy the fun of artistic expression.
