One-off Grant for Promotion of Self-directed language Learning (Mandarin)

To further cultivate students' effective use of English and Mandarin, and to strengthen Hong Kong's advantages in highly internationalized and diversified education, the Chief Executive announced in the 2024 Policy Address that the Education Bureau will allocate approximately HKD 400 million from the "Language Fund." Supported and approved by the "Language and Research Committee," a "One-off Grant for Promotion of Self-directed language Learning (English)" and a "One-off Grant for Promotion of Self-directed language Learning (Mandarin)" will be issued to every public primary and secondary school for the 2024/25 school year. The subsidy will be distributed in December 2024, with an amount of HKD 200,000, which can be used across school years until the end of the 2026/27 school year.
